Application Information

The School of Social Ecology accepts applications for graduate school annually for Fall Quarter only. Applications for Fall, 2008 admission are now being accepted for review.

[In submitting your application, be sure to specify clearly the degree program for which you wish to be considered for admission. This is important because if a student is admitted to a degree program within the School of Social Ecology, transferring to a different degree program requires special procedures and cannot always be guaranteed.

  • The deadline for the MURP program has been extended to May 15,2008. For more information please visit the department page at http://socialecology.uci.edu/ppd/admissions
  • Applicants must submit their applications by January 15, 2008 to receive full consideration. **Please note that the deadline for Psychology and Social Behavior is December 15, 2007.
  • Applications for the Master's of Advanced Study (M.A.S.) in Criminology, Law, & Society must be submitted by April 20, 2008.
  • Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores are required; the Educational Testing Service GRE code for UCI is R4859. All applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit test results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The Educational Testing Service TOEFL code for UCI is 4859. A score of 550 or better on the paper-based TOEFL or 213 on the computer-based exam is required for admission consideration. International applicants interested in serving as Teaching Assistants must submit Test of Spoken English (TSE) scores as well.
  • Applications must also include all official transcripts; 3 letters of reference; a completed application form; a statement of purpose; and a check for $60.00 made out to the UC Regents.

Please note: Graduate applications for the Department of Environmental Health, Science, and Policy will no longer be accepted. This includes the Ph.D. in Environmental Health Science and Policy and the M.S. in Environmental Health Science and Policy.
