Child Development Lab

The Child Development Lab is dedicated to exploring how children grow and learn. Our goal is to provide valuable information about children’s cognitive and social development that parents, educators, and researchers can use. There are many exciting projects underway and still others being developed. Some of our current projects include children’s transition to kindergarten and the development of imagination and memory capabilities in early childhood. Children love taking part in our projects and often ask their parents if they can come back to help with other projects.

The Child Developmental Lab is supervised by Dr. Jodi Quas, an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Social Behavior at UCI. She has been conducting research for over 15 years and is recognized as a leading researcher and significant contributor to the field of child development. Dr. Quas works with several dedicated graduate students on many of the projects. All projects conducted at the lab have been approved by the university’s Institutional Review Board.

If you are interested in learning more about our ongoing projects, as well as future ones, please fill out a Child Information Form. We will contact you to explain our projects in more detail. You can then decide if you and your child would like to participate. You can also contact us at childlab@uci.edu or 949-824-9577.

Thank you for your interest in our work. We could not conduct these important projects without the help of families like you.
