Admissions

Graduate applications for the Department of Environmental Health, Science, and Policy are suspended for Fall 2007.

The Environmental Health, Science, and Policy at UC Irvine program welcomes applications from candidates with bachelor or advanced degrees from any of the listed backgrounds: natural sciences, environmental sciences, environmental studies, physical sciences, and engineering. GRE scores are required at the time of application. A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required for all applicants.

Qualified students with a bachelor's degree or master's degree from a variety of disciplines, including the social sciences (sociology, economics, psychology, geography, health policy, ethnic and racial studies programs), humanities disciplines, physical sciences, natural sciences, architecture and engineering are welcome to apply to the EHSP program. Minimum admission standards normally include a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and the Graduate Record Examination (GRE's) of 1100 or greater on the verbal and quantitative portion of the exam. Applications are accepted for full-time study only, beginning in the fall quarter.

Students holding bachelor's or master's degrees from a variety of backgrounds including the physical sciences, natural sciences, environmental sciences, environmental studies, architecture, and engineering are welcome to apply to the EHSP program. A background in the natural and physical sciences is helpful for individuals wishing to receive a doctoral degree focused on environmental problems or environmental policy. Minimum admission standards normally include a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and Graduate Record Examination (GRE's) of 1100 or greater on the verbal and quantitative portion of the exam. Applications are accepted for full-time study only, beginning in the fall quarter. There is no foreign language requirement for the Ph.D.

The application deadline for all degree programs is January 15 of the year in which the student intends to enroll. Complete application materials, including the application form, college transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and GRE scores must be received by this date for an application to be considered for admission.
